2025 has been a historic and transformative year for St. Balikudembe SSS Kisoga . From groundbreaking infrastructure projects and star-studded cultural festivals to academic triumphs that defied the odds, the school has solidified its reputation as a leading “Cathedral of Education” in the Mukono District.Below is a detailed retrospective of the major events that defined the school’s journey throughout 2025.
The defining moment of the year occurred on Saturday, June 28, 2025, during the school’s annual Family Day and Patron Saint Celebrations. Led by Msgr. Richard Kayondo, the event was much more than a religious gathering,it marked a significant expansion of the school’s physical and logistical capabilities.

Groundbreaking for Modern Facilities: The school officially broke ground on a new, state-of-the-art Administration and Classroom Block. This project is designed to accommodate the school’s growing student population and modernize its administrative heart.

Acquisition of a New School Bus: During the same ceremony, a brand-new school bus was commissioned and blessed. This acquisition is aimed at enhancing student transportation for sports, field trips, and academic tours, ensuring safety and convenience for the “Balikuddembe family.”

Employee Recognition: In a heartwarming display of community spirit, the school presented the Employee of the Year award to its dedicated chef, recognizing the tireless work of support staff in the school’s success.
In early October, the school gates opened for the Homecoming Excellence Festival 2025, a massive gathering of current students, alumni (Old Boys and Old Girls), and well-wishers. The festival reached its peak with a performance by celebrated Ugandan artist Rema Namakula, who headlined the event alongside alumni artists like Helena Nanjego, Yoyo, and May Ruth. A collaborative performance of the hit song “Tudd’eka” featured both current students and alumni, symbolizing the enduring bond between the institution and its graduates.


Academically, 2025 was a year of celebrating perseverance. The school highlighted the extraordinary success of Eric Sserunkuuma, who achieved a perfect 20 points in his UACE (BCM/ICT) exams in March 2025. His story became a school-wide inspiration: despite starting with a modest 20 points in his UCE (Ordinary Level) exams, Eric’s success which earned him admission to a medical degree program was credited to the school’s intensive mentorship and academic support systems. This achievement reinforced the school’s ethos that “early setbacks are opportunities for growth”.
In early May, the school hosted Prom 2025, one of the most socially anticipated events of the year. The celebration was a vibrant display of youth fashion and elegance.The event featured a professional red-carpet experience, which was showcased on national platforms like NBS Youth Voice. The Prom served as a send-off for Senior Six candidates, featuring elaborate decor and a “Prom Prince and President” ceremony.


The school’s commitment to Buganda cultural heritage was on full display on November 21, 2025, during the Nkobazambogo Handover Ceremony. This event marked the peaceful transition of leadership for the school’s cultural club, celebrating Buganda’s traditions through music, dance, and formal speeches.

As a Catholic-founded institution, spiritual growth remained a cornerstone of 2025, In late May, students participated in the Lugazi Diocese Students Pilgrimage, reinforcing their faith and values.
In early November, a dedicated Blessing Mass for Senior 6 candidates was held. The school community prayed for “monumental success” as the students prepared to write their names in the institution’s history through their final national exams.
